Yardena Alotin
Yardena Alotin (1930-1994) was an Israeli composer and pianist. She studied composition with Ödön Pártos, Alexander Uriah Boskovich, Mordecai Seter, and Paul Ben-Haim.¹ Alotin, heavily influenced by her teachers, strived to combine Western, Eastern, and Jewish musical traditions in her compositions. This was often demonstrated by her mixture of Baroque and Classical forms with complex, ever-changing meters. Regarding vocal music, Alotin also wrote 4 choral pieces.²
